01. June - 01. October - “Budva Summer” – International Folklore Festival
Within the program “Budva Summer” organized by the TO Budva, Budva Municipality, HG “Budvanska rivijera” and production house “Copyright” International Folklore Festival Budva-Montenegro will be held. Festival founder and one of the organizers is Cultural and Artistic Association “S.M. Ljubiša”.
During the three days of the program, on the square in front of the Old Town participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania and Montenegro will present folklore of their countries’ through the traditional folk dance and songs. The night before the show, all the participants will perform before the audience in along Slovenska plaža.
International Folklore Festival - Budva-Montenegro is held every night at 21:00h.
01. July - 15. September - Film Festival “Summer Cinemania”
In collaboration with the production company “Mirius Tuck” from Belgrade a film festival “Summer Cinemania” is organized. Films are shown during the summer in the hotel “Slovenska plaža”, in a beautiful ambience of the pool “Rondo”. Films are shown every evening at 22:00h. The idea that was launched primarily for the needs of the city which deserves to have such cultural content has fully come to life.
Guests had the opportunity to enjoy the latest films that were shown every evening. At the festival about 15 films had their first run and they were divided into different cycles by genre.
“Summer Cinemania” can proudly boast with exclusivity, since there are not many events of the same kind in the world even in the most famous tourist resorts. In fact, the vast majority of films have had their first run in Montenegro, and a dozen of them have been shown for the first time in Montenegro, Serbia and Macedonia.
13. July - Statehood day and celebration of the day of Tourism organization of Budva
It is traditionally celebrated on the 13th July and it includes music and entertainment program; it is held on the Painters’ Square where most popular ex-Yu musicians perform.
30. August - Petrovačka noć (Petrovac Night): Feast for the End of the Season
As announced by the Tourism Organization of Budva (TOB), a rich entertainment program has been made which will begin at 16:00h and will last until late at night. The City Music of Budva will take part and visitors on the city promenade will be entertained by the a capella vocal group “Castel Nuovo”.
In Petrovac on 31 August the biggest folk festival of fish and wine will be held - Petrovačka noć - which will mark the end of the tourist season this year.
Organizers of this great festival will provide 500 litres of beer, 800 litres of wine and 500 kilograms of fish that will be offered for free to the visitors of Petrovačka noć. Several thousands of visitors are expected.
31. August - 03. September - Petrovac Jazz Festival
For many years the festival has been supported by Municipality of Budva, Tourism Organization of Budva, and now traditionally the Embassy of Austria, Polish Embassy, Embassy of Germany, Goethe-Institute in Belgrade and many friends of the Festival.
The festival will be held this year for the sixth time and will last from 31 August – 3 September 2012 and will be held on two stages - the amphitheatre in front of the Public Enterprise Memorial Centre “Crvena komuna” and on the terrace of the castle “Kastelo”.
